Privacy Policy
Velvet is an entertainment app for chatting with fictional AI characters. This policy explains what the app collects and what it does not.
No account required
Velvet has no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth, and we do not have a user database that can identify you.
What the app stores on your device
- Your conversations, gem balance, intimacy progress, and favourites, kept locally and in your own private iCloud storage.
- A random install identifier, used to keep your pricing consistent and to apply fair-use limits. It is not linked to your identity.
What is sent off the device
- Message text. To generate a character's reply, the recent messages in that conversation are sent to our server and on to our AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes to the model provider). They are used to produce the reply.
- The install identifier, for rate limiting and pricing consistency.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Purchases
Subscriptions and gem purchases are processed by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details.
Analytics and crash reporting
The app may collect anonymous diagnostics to fix crashes and understand which features are used. This data is not used to identify you.
Retention
Conversations live on your device; deleting the app deletes them. Message text sent for reply generation is processed transiently and is not retained by us as a conversation history.
Children
Velvet is intended for adults only and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Your choices
You can clear your data at any time by deleting the app. For any request or question, contact alexzgain@gmail.com.
